Just 16 days to go until our Jubilee Party.

Come along and help us celebrate the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II by joining in our big barbecue, enjoy delicious homemade desserts and participate in all the fun and games that are planned.

Tickets will be on sale at the May Fayre on Sunday, which is being held outside the Blue Sky Cafe in Empuriabrava.

We would like you to bring along your cameras, or phones, and take pictures on the day. The best picture which encompasses the spirit of the day will be published on the front cover of the Bulletin, and will also receive a prize. Something quirky might catch the eye of the judges, so the more unusual, the better.

Fancy Dress / Best Hat

Join in the Fancy Dress Contest and win a prize. Make it Jubilee themed if you like, or whatever you feel comfortable in. Remember, it will be a long day, so a suit of armour would probably not be a good idea! For those who don’t want to dress up, we have a Best Hat Contest, so why not decorate your old gardening hat or sunhat? All efforts will be much appreciated.

Bunting Handy Hints

Here are some tips for making your bunting.

Step 1: Cut out the template, pin it to your fabric and then cut around it. Make a minimum of three, more if you like.

Step 2: Evenly space the flags along a length of bias binding tape, string or even old shoelaces, then fold the edge over and pin in place.

Step 3: Sew on the flags with a straight stitch, leaving at least 40cm of tape free from flags at each end for hanging.

Top Tip:
When cutting your fabric use pinking shears instead of scissors. This helps to prevent the edges of your fabric fraying.

Sewing tip:
Not such a keen sewer? Use double-sided hemming tape as an alternative to a needle and thread! Or strong glue.

On Sunday 03 of June from 14.00 hours celebrates Pro Gat i Gos Ampuria a FAMILY PARTY in our animal shelter at the entrance of Castello d´Empuries behind the Butterfly Park, the signs will show you the way.

All are invited.

We will offer refreshments, wine, cava, salads, grill sausages – steaks and much more. Our tombola has beautiful prizes to win. The money will be donated to our dog and cat home.
We hope you will have a nice afternoon.

Hello Fellow BSC Members,

This is the first post in a planned series covering the build-up to our Jubilee Party on Sunday 3rd June at Pasko’s Restaurant in Mas Fumats, Roses.

We are still in the early planning stages and would ask you all to put on your thinking caps and come up with ideas for games and contests that we could all participate in.

So far we have a Fancy Dress Contest, Best Cupcake Contest and Best Bunting Contest and are looking for more fun things to do on the day.
