About The BSC

Since 1975 the British Society of Catalunya, in the Bay of Roses has enabled many people to connect, and make friends, with other English-speaking people and has been an invaluable introductory point for people just moving to the area. We currently have members, from a variety of European countries and beyond, with many diverse interests.

Before the Covid outbreak we had a lively social scene for members consisting of lunches with fundraising raffles once a month, Bridge Club, Line Dancing group, ten-pin bowling, mini-golf for fun and competition, ”proper” golf competitions, Book Club, pre-read Book Exchange. We also ran quiz nights and subsidised coach trips.

The society is changing as a direct result of Brexit. Non resident members are no longer able to attend and support the multitude of activities we undertake. We have found it extremely difficult to infuse “new blood” to our committee.

We  circulate an email newsletter within the group giving updates on things of note in the press, recipes, advice, jokes and reviews on activities undertaken each month.

We have no membership fees.We are still a friendly social group, many of us meet on a regular basis at least once a month and we look forward to seeing new “members” joining us in the future.
